About The renovators workshop.

Renovating your home can be one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do—but it often feels confusing, overwhelming, and isolating, especially at the start. I’ve seen it time and time again: smart, creative homeowners full of ideas, held back by self-doubt, decision fatigue, or just not knowing where to begin.

I’m Maddy Gecsek, a Geelong based designer with over 8 years of experience in the construction and design industry and founder of Gecsek, a design studio focused on creating functional, beautiful homes. Through my work, I’ve guided dozens of clients through renovations and new builds—from the first idea all the way to completion. I know how complex this journey can be, and how often homeowners just need someone to demystify the process and help them feel confident making decisions.

That’s exactly why I created The Renovators Workshop. It began as a series of in-person workshops, designed to give homeowners practical advice and clear steps forward. After seeing how valuable this support was—and how many more people needed it outside of my Geelong bubble—I’ve brought The Renovators Workshop online to make it more accessible and flexible for anyone, anywhere.
